Music

Playing guitar and singing have been part of the Becker family ever since I can remember. My Dad and his brothers played at each-other’s weddings, and I have many memories of sitting on the swing-set with my Dad on summer nights listening to him strum on his guitar. I started playing in middle school after another boy stole the heart of the girl I had a crush on by playing “stairway to heaven” and “Plush“ on his electric guitar.

I’ve been singing and writing songs ever since, and have also learned to play bass, ukulele, piano, and harmonica.

The Bridge Church

The vision for this church was a “Church Without Walls, Where Everyone is Welcome“. Some dear friends and I played worship music for the bridge church for nearly 5 years. I got to hear the stories of people’s lives who have been through so much, and was gifted with the opportunity to lift them up. It was one of the most sacred and spirit filled times I’ve ever had, and I’m looking forward to the next ministry opportunity like it!

Goodness of God - Jenn Johnson and Bethel Music

I’ve always loved this song, and decided to do a quick recording of it in my “mini office studio”. It’s not perfect, but I believe worship music is more about feeling God’s presence than getting every note correct. The illustration is a drawing I did of Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music - I’m so inspired by how she worships. Thanks Jenn and Bethel for inspiring me!!

Change Your Life

I wrote this song while living in the Washington DC area. Someone I met had promised me that he would make me a star, and that this was my moment! While that wasn’t 100% true, that feeling of being on the cusp of something amazing and fateful is still something I love to return to. I couldn’t have completed this song without the help of my dear friend and music partner Heloise, who worked out the standup bass and encouraged me to finish it.
